Styled after a 1953 Royal Australian Navy uniform button, this finely detailed lapel pin offers a refined nod to Australia’s naval history. With its domed finish, plain edge and gold-plated detailing, it has been carefully designed to reflect the look and character of the original button. Measuring 23mm across and presented on a specially designed backing card, it is a distinctive piece to wear or display within a naval or maritime collection.
The original 1953 button design followed the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, when the Tudor Crown was replaced by St Edward’s Crown to reflect the new reign. Unlike the rope-edged buttons worn by Commissioned Officers, Other Ranks’ buttons retained a plain edge with a fouled anchor. Depending on the uniform, these buttons were produced in brass, black or white finishes.
